Dear Seoul Office ,
The Wall
Street Journal and Times Higher Education recently teamed up
to create a new ranking of top colleges and
universities in the United States, and I am delighted to share the wonderful
news that the University of
Southern California ranked fifteenth on their
national list of public and private universities. Among California
universities, only USC, Stanford, and Caltech appear in the top 15, and no
other California university appears in the top 25. Additionally, among
150 colleges and universities in the western United States, USC ranks third.
This represents USC¡¯s highest placement ever among such
rankings of our nation¡¯s top educational institutions, and it is particularly
noteworthy because the ranking¡¯s methodology was truly comprehensive in scope.
Also noteworthy, in the area of environment, which measures student and
faculty diversity, USC is tied for second with Columbia among the top 25
nationally ranked universities.
This is exceptional news for the USC community, and I
am thrilled that we are finally getting the recognition we deserve.
